LIBRARY CARDS AND REGISTRATION
Who Can Apply
All residents of Ogden, rural Ogden, Boone county and communities contracting with the library are considered to be patrons, and our customers. All patrons are eligible to receive a library card unless borrowing privileges have been suspended by the library. Patrons from other Iowa libraries may borrow materials from Leonard A. Good Community Library-through our participation in the State Library’s Open Access program.
Fees and Replacements
Patrons are issued library cards for free. There is a $1.00 fee for replacement cards.
Signatures Required/ID
To open an account, patrons must complete the registration form and show a photo ID and proof of current address. A photo ID may include a valid driver’s license, state-issued ID, school ID or passport. Proof of residence may include a valid driver’s license, recent utility bill, lease or mail received within the last 30 days. A parent or guardian must sign for a minor child to receive a library card.
Expiration of Library Cards
Newly issued library cards expire (3) years from the application date.
Suspension of Card
The library director may suspend a patron’s borrowing privileges if it is determined that said patron is negligent in paying fines, not returning library materials, or is a detriment to the library. Patron’s borrowing privileges are suspended when the maximum limit set for fines or fees has been reached.
